Beal Law Firm began in May 1992 when Eric Beal left the big firms of Dallas and started a solo practice in Arlington, Texas. At the time, the firm was called the Law Offices of Eric Beal. The very first paying case that the firm signed up was a family law case involving termination and step-parent adoption, and those clients became friends for life.

From the very beginning, BLF has handled family law work, in fact Eric Beal handled his first divorce case while working for one of the largest (350 attorneys) and most respected firms in Dallas, Johnson & Gibbs, P.C.

Eric’s first solo jury trial was a custody case involving a request for termination of parental rights. Eric represented the respondent against Child Protective Services. Eric won the case with a unanimous verdict after 15 minutes of jury deliberation.

Over the next 15 years, the firm handled hundreds of cases in a wide variety of areas including family law – divorce, child custody, child support, enforcement, termination, etc. – juvenile, breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, insurance code, employment law, intellectual property, adult criminal law, misappropriation, probate, mental health law, and personal injury – both plaintiff and defense.

In 2007, having changed the name of the firm to Beal Law Firm, moved to Southlake, Texas, and with a docket that by then had become about 75% family law, the firm decided to focus exclusively on family law.

Since 2007, the firm has represented hundreds of clients throughout Tarrant, Dallas, Collin, Denton, Bexar, Johnson, Erath, Parker, Wise, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, El Paso, Midland, Atascosa County, Wilson County, Frio County, Guadalupe County, Kendall County, Kerr County, Medina County, Uvalde County, Comal County, and other Texas Counties.

We are now a Team of attorneys that practice exclusively family law and are proud of the fact that we have been able to help people all over the state of Texas as well as clients located in China, Italy, England, the Middle East, Hawaii, New York, and many other parts of the world.

Our Founder is AV Preeminent Rated by the prestigious Martindale Hubbell Company, which was founded in 1868, and whose AV rating is considered “a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence.”

Additionally, Mr. Beal is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, which is “a mark of excellence and a distinguishing accomplishment” and “means an attorney has substantial, relevant experience in a select field of law as well as demonstrated, and tested, special competence in that area of law.” In fact, according to the Texas Board of Legal Specialization website, “There are more than 100,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. Only 7,450 are Board Certified.”

And three of our attorneys – Eric Beal, Ryan Asprion, and Robert Hight – are members of the College of the State Bar of Texas, which is “an honorary society of lawyers who are among the best-trained attorneys in Texas.” According to the College’s website, “Members are qualified attorneys who are interested in both high ethical standards and improved training for all Texas attorneys” and who have attended “at least double the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) required by the State Bar of Texas.”

Mr. Beal has practiced for over 32 years, is a former U.S. Marine Corps Legal Officer, and a graduate of Baylor Law School with highest honors. More recently, Mr. Beal has been named to the list of Best Lawyers in America for 2022, Texas Super Lawyers for 2022, and is a multiple recipient of the Platinum Client Champion Award given out by Martindale Hubbell.
