​A long-time resident of Tarrant County, Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas-Arlington. Following graduation, she attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2004.

Before joining the Beal Law Firm, Melissa practiced law at a number of esteemed Texas law firms. For personal reasons, Melissa stepped away from family law for a brief period. Eventually, her love for family law and the desire to help people successfully navigate one of the toughest times of their lives—the breakdown of a marriage and family—drew Melissa back to family law.

As Melissa explains, “I realized that as a family law attorney, I am able to help some really good people make it through what is a very difficult period. That desire to help people drew me back to family law. I know they just need the right tools to help get them through this time in a healthy fashion, and that’s something I know I can provide.”

When she isn’t practicing law, Melissa enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and watching true crime documentaries and college football (Go Hokies!). She also volunteers with Saving Hope Animal Rescue.
