Remember when you were a little kid and people would ask you what you wanted to be in life? At age 2, my answer was, "Garbage Man," because riding on those trucks and running around carrying those cans looked really fun.
Do you know what you don't want to be? A Family Law client.
Unfortunately, I cannot give you the complete recipe for how to avoid that, but one thing I can tell you is this: Ignoring things like Valentine's Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. is a way to get closer to being a client.
In the Marine Corps, they used to tell us, "Any decision is better than no decision." The best example of that is an ambush. If you are suddenly getting fired at, running in any direction or dropping to the ground or getting behind any cover is better than doing nothing. Doing nothing will get you killed.
When it comes to Valentine's Day or an Anniversary or a Birthday, doing anything is better than doing nothing. A card, a gift, a dinner, a hug or all of the above is better than doing nothing.
Doing nothing is probably not going to get you killed, but it may increase the odds that you become a Family Law client in the future.
Don't let that happen to you! Do something!! Anything is better than nothing.
